Hobnob for Hounds Was "Bow-Wowie!

What a great evening at Hobnob for Hounds, a local fundraising effort!  Some fifty people enjoyed appetizers and drinks at the Hobnob Neighborhood Tavern.  Many of them are new friends of Mostly Mutts and were excited to learn about our adoptions which occur the first three Sundays of every month at Ansley Mall Pet Supermarket.  They also found out more about fostering and volunteering with Mostly Mutts.  Two of the rescued dogs, Butters and Lean, made a special appearance and Butters was so charming that he went into a foster to adopt living arrangement that evening!  Thanks to all who came out and made the night a success!

Mostly Mutts Market 2011-Ya'll Come!

Who likes to shop, find great bargains and support a good cause all at the same time; do you?!  Come help Mostly Mutts and other animal rescue and welfare groups by participating in our annual market scheduled for the first three weekends in April.  Don't miss the opportunity to get some really cool stuff at really good prices and help the animals at the same time.  You can shop, volunteer, donate, promote or all of the above!  Last year's event was "paws" itively a "howling" success and we want to do it again in 2011.  Here's how you can help:

  • Donate-we all have attics, basements and garages full of stuff that needs to go; box it up and bring it to us!  If it works, is in good shape, hasn't been recalled and not been slept on, we'll take it. Visit our website to see the list of what we CAN accept.
  • Volunteer-we need people to help set up, break down and mind the store.  There's a variety of shifts and even if you can't stay the whole time, we'll appreciate any time you do give us.
  • Promote-spread the word through your email, Facebook or Twitter account, neighborhood newsletter; tell everyone you know!  Share this link on Facebook.
Our indoor yard sale will be in Woodstock at the Climatized Self Storage facility located at 42 Sycamore Lane.  More more info, visit our website, the Facebook page, Twitter feed or contact our fabulous coordinators: Paula at PaulaKellam@AOL.com or Janice at Quietzsch@AOL.com.

Mark you calendars, see you there and thanks for supporting the mutts!

What is Mostly Mutts?

Welcome to our blog!  We hope you will check back often for updates and follow us on both Twitter and Facebook.  Only with your help can Mostly Mutts help save the animal world one pet at a time.

For those of you who want to know more about us, Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue and Adoptions, Inc. was started in 2004 with the mission to rescue dogs from local shelters and house them until they are able to be adopted into wonderful homes.  We rescue dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes and health conditions.  Many of our dogs require heartworm treatment, treatment for disease or mange, or have orthopedic issues.  We give them the best care possible and lots of love while they are with us and strive to see that each dog is placed in a home where their needs will be fully met.

Mostly Mutts is proud to be the parent organization of Spay Neuter Society of the South and encourages you to support them as well.  You can follow them, too, on both Facebook and Twitter.
